“Limbic Care” is the healthcare side of our operation. Since our technology originates from the medical- and neuroscience space, we are exploring this avenue to make therapy more accessible and more cost-effective for clinics, small practices, and for patients at home.

Focus on lower spine rehabilitation
Our collaboration focuses on assessing the use of the Limbic Chair VR together with VR technology for physical therapy of the lower spine.
Lower spine injuries from sitting and other stress factors constitute one of the largest and fast rising health costs in our society.
Physical therapy is still the most effective treatment, but as the number of cases increases every year, therapists are in increasingly short demand.
Reduce costs, improve logistics and availability
Current rehabilitation systems designed to reduce the one-on-one time with therapists are typically costly, large, and bulky, burdening hospital finances and logistics.
This situation is creating increasing demand for affordable, compact rehabilitation solutions that can be used by the patients independently and in the location of their convenience.
VR medical-gaming – an opportunity for hospitals, patients and therapists alike
The introduction of gaming (‘serious gaming’) and virtual reality (VR) is a crucial part of this project as it’s intended to make the repetitive parts of the rehabilitation process more attractive, thus increasing the patient’s independence as well as their motivation to train.
For the therapists, it is more effective and more rewarding to be part of the meaningful stages of therapy, while the bulk of the work can be done by the patients independently, in a dedicated area or in their hospital room.
The therapy-games are designed by Limbic Life in conjunction with Rehabern.
Modern, compact technology based on the Limbic Chair VR
The technological base for the project is the Limbic Chair VR. It provides high levels of pelvic- and thigh mobility while keeping the patient in perfect balance, making a therapeutically relevant range of motion accessible even to weak and uncoordinated patients.
Thigh- and pelvic movements translate into spinal movement and are measured for recording progress and to produce gaming output to make the rehabilitation process more attractive while increasing measurability.
Being light and compact, a VR headset is well-suited to work with the Limbic Chair.
Together, they provide a convenient platform that can easily be integrated into hospital life.
At a later stage, our technology will be made available to clinics, and after that for patients and healthy individuals at home.
